Sunday in Review

Tonight's three stars
1. Marty Turco - 3 goals on 39 shots, 2-3 in shootout
2. Sergei Zubov - 1 goal in regulation and one in the shootout, 27:06 TOI
3. Scott Niedermayer - 1 goal, 1 assist, +2, 30:45 TOI

Game Recap:

* Dallas is now 5-0 and have given up just 8 goals. Turco may finally be taking his game to the next level but he'll always be a question mark until he's successful in the playoffs
* Zubov was one of 4 Stars without a point going into tonight's game. Jaroslav Modry notched his first point as well (Ott and Barnaby are the only two who are scoreless through five games. The Stars have three former Kings' defencemen, all of whom were often criticized by fans during their time in LA
* Bryzgalov was replaced after giving up 2 goals on 14 shots. Not sure there was a slight injury but either way that can't help his cause as he attempts to steal the job from Giguere.
* Andy McDonald and Antti Miettinen each had a game-high 9 shots on goal
* Giguere stopped 7 shots in overtime but only 1 of three in the shootout
* Dallas had 11 Powerplays to Anaheim's 4. Dallas did have two PP goals but Anaheim scored once while shorthanded (Marchant)
* Pronger, Niedermayer and Beauchemin each played over 30 minutes while DiPenta and O'Brien played just 6:45 and 7:26 respectively. You have to wonder about their depth on the blueline beyond the top three and what will happen if they lose one for any length of time
* Jokinen is still automatic in the shootout
* Dallas will attempt to stay undefeated and sweep the four game West coast trip as they stop in San Jose on Tuesday.
* Anaheim has lost two in a row but both by shootout - they are now 3-0-2 and are home vs Detroit and Minnesota this week
