New York

In a back and forth game the Leafs tied it late to salvage a point at home but the Rangers prevailed in a shootout. Darcy Tucker continued his hot start, notching another two goals to bring his total to seven. Tucker is displaying an impressive scoring touch early on that may make contract negotiations difficult between his agent and the Leafs.

After the first five shooters were stopped in the shootout, Shanahan came in and burried it for the win. He also had goal #8 this season. The Wings may miss Shanahan even more than they miss Yzerman this year, because clearly Shanahan still has a great deal in the tank.

Bryan McCabe played a game high 32:29 as the Leafs gave up 4 or more goals for the fourth time in five outings (since the Kubina injury). Both Raycroft and Lundqvist were not at their best, and young Nigel Dawes had his first NHL goal.
